Pard, can you translate rules to english please? and how did you make cubes for it and what are amounts that we need for each color. Thanks again for great job.
Century: Spice Road is the first in a series of games that explores the history of each century with spice-trading as the theme for the first installment. In Century: Spice Road, players are caravan leaders who travel the famed silk-road to deliver spices to the far reaches of the continent for fame and glory. Each turn, players perform one of four actions:
• Establish a trade route (by taking a market card)
• Make a trade or harvest spices (by playing a card from hand)
• Fulfill a demand (by meeting a victory point card's requirements and claiming it)
• Rest (by taking back into your hand all of the cards you've played)
The last round is triggered once a player has claimed their fifth victory point card (or 6th in a 2-player game), then whoever has the most victory points, wins.
Contents:
• 36 Point Cards
• 53 Market Cards
• 10 Starting market Cards
• 5 Caravan cards
• 105 wooden cubes
• Spice Bowls
• 20 Coins 10 Gold and 10 Silver
• Rule book
Set-Up:
Shuffle the Point Cards then turn the top “5” cards face-up in a row, set the remainder of the cards at the end that row for a draw pile. Above the farthest card to the left place gold coins equal to the number of players x2 (ex. In a two player game you would put 4 gold coins above that card). Above the second to the farthest card to the left place the same number of silver coins as you did gold coins. The remainder of the coins are considered to be removed from the game and will not be used. Next are the Market Cards, shuffle them then turn the top “6” cards face-up in a row under the row of point cards (note: the farthest card to the left should have no point card above it). Then place the remainder of the cards under the point cards draw pile. (See set-up example below)

Place the four Spice Bowls to the left of the Point & Market Cards arranged vertically, put the yellow cubes in the bottom Spice Bowl then the red ones above that, then the green ones finally the blue ones in the top Spice Bowl (see chart above). These represent the spices in the game and the order is important; the yellow ones are the most common while the blue ones are most rare.
There are 5 sets of starting Market Cards (purple border) give each player two of those cards, one has two yellow cubes (representing yellow spice) and one with two grey cubes (representing any color). These cards are the player’s starting hand.
Each player receives a Caravan Card, this is where players will put their spices that they receive, note that there are ten square placements which means the most spices any player can have in their possession is “10”, should they have any more than that at the end of their turn they must discard down to “10”, players choose which spices are to be discarded (more on that later). Be sure to use the Caravan Card with the First Turn Player mark on it as this will determine who goes first for each round, shuffle the amount of Caravan cards you are going to use, which is equal to the amount of players, then deal them face-down to the players, again, be sure the Caravan Card marked with First Player is used. Players will then set their starting spice on their Caravan Cards; First Turn Player will receive “3” yellow cubes (use the chart below to see how many cubes each player gets):
• First player gets 3 yellow cubes
• Second player gets 4 yellow cubes
• Third player gets 4 yellow cubes
• Fourth player gets 3 yellow & 1 red cubes
• Fifth player gets 3 yellow & 1 red cubes
Playing the game:
Players will use cards from their hand to collect or upgrade spices, they will also be able to collect more Market Cards and/or buy Point Cards for the spice cost on those cards then take those cards into their possession for end game points.
Game play starts with the player who has the First Turn Player written on their Caravan Card then go clockwise. On each player’s turn they can perform at most a single action from 4 different options:
Acquire Action – Choose a Market Card of your choice, the Market Card to the far left is free however, if you want to take any of the other cards they will cost one spice for each card to the left of the chosen card, for example, if you wanted the third card from the left you need to place a spice cube on the first and second card then pick-up the chosen card. If you are unable to place the amount of spice cubes needed to pick-up your chosen card you cannot, you must be able to pay the whole cost or choose another card you can pay for. After selecting a Market Card and putting it into your hand slide the cards that were to the right of that card to the left so as to fill the empty spot it created, then draw a card from the draw pile to fill in the spot that is now next to the draw pile. In future turns should a player choose a card with a spice cube on it they will take that spice cube, add it to their Caravan Card, in addition to the chosen card. Note: this is no limit to the amount of cards you can acquire (no hand limit).
Play Action – You choose a Market Card from your hand and do the action on that card. There are “3” different actions on the cards; one is to take the spices equal to the amount of smiley faces on that card of the same color as the smiley face and add them to your Caravan Card. Yellow smiley faces for yellow cubes, Red smiley faces for red cubes, Green smiley faces for green cubes, Blue smiley faces for blue cubes and finally, Purple smiley faces mean you may select a cube of any color of your choice. Another kind of card is an upgrade card where you can upgrade your spices to higher grade spices so if you have an upgrade card (indicated by purple smiley faces with an arrow above it pointing upwards) you can upgrade an amount of times as there are smiley faces on it. Example – an upgrade card with two smiley faces on it you can upgrade two spices up one level or one spice upgraded two levels. The third kind of card is a for trading spices to get other kinds of spices, this card will have smiley faces on it of various colors then an arrow point downwards with smiley faces under the arrow, this means you can trade the spices listed on the card for spices from the supply that are listed under the arrow. Example – a card with two yellow smiley faces with a downward arrow under them and a red smiley face under the arrow means that you can turn in “2” yellow cubes to the supply from your Caravan Card then take “1” red cube from the supply and add it to your Caravan Card. You may do this action of this card as many times as you can so long as you have the spices to do so. Note: After you play a card it goes face-up in a discard pile in front of you and you may not play it again until its back in your hand (more on how to do that in a moment).
Claiming a Point Card – To do this return to the Spice Bowls cubes from your Caravan Card pictured on the bottom of the Point Card you wish to claim. Example – you want to claim a Point Card with “2” yellow, “1” red & “1” green cube pictured at the bottom of that card, you have those cubes needed for this card on your Caravan Card so you return those cubes to the supply then take possession of that point card, place it face-down in your play area. If the card you claim has either a gold or silver coin above it you get to take one coin from above that card. When there are no more gold coins above the card farthest to the left then slide any remaining silver coins above the card farthest to the left. Like the Market Cards, slide the cards to left to fill in the spot made by the card that was taken then draw the top card from the draw pile and place it face-up next to the draw deck in the now empty spot.
Rest Action – For this action you return all of the cards in your discard pile to your hand. That’s it, your turn is over.
End Game – The games ends when a player takes their fifth Point Card (or sixth in a two-payer game). Be sure that all players have had an equal amount of turns before final scoring. The points are then added up in this order:
- Add up all of your Point card totals
- Add your coins, “3” points for each gold coin and “1” point for each silver coin
- Add “1” point for each non-yellow spice left on your Caravan Card
The player with the highest total of points is the winner. If there is a tie then the tied player who last took a turn wins.
